First Team Debuts

Milestones

Another three points:

Back to league duty after last week's disappointment and it was the best possible start for Caley Thistle.

Richie Foran headed the home side into the lead from a Ross Tokely cross on 19 minutes and two minutes later Ian Black made it 2-0 when his free kick got a bit of help from the wind and ended up in the bottom right corner.

Ross Ford pulled one back in first half injury time but despite sustained pressure from Killie there was to be no equaliser and the three points stayed in Inverness.

Fan overview:

Phew, that was one of the worst games of football I've ever seen. Our second half performance was absolute mince, there was only 1 team in the game. We kept punting long aimless balls up the park and barely strung 2 passes together for long spells. There was no focus, no composure, no imagination. We were lethargic and second to almost every ball, the exact opposite of our performance against Hibs. Rooney and Imrie were completely ineffective, they kept conceding possession too easily and created nothing. I don't think they're going to form an effective partnership.

In the last half hour Butcher and Malpas obviously decided to go all out defence and cling onto our lead rather than go out to kill the game off. At the final whistle we had 8 defenders on the pitch. That must be an ICT record!

We played far better last week and got nothing. I'll take an ugly win over an entertaining defeat any week but if we play this badly again we'll almost always lose.
