An excellent result for the visitors and a great team performance.

Alloa started well and in 17 minutes Whyte brought out a good save from Jim Calder. After that the visitors dominated and came close through two Hercher headers and a Hastings drive.

The opening came in 36 minutes when Charlie Christie lobbed the ball neatly over Graham and 7 minutes later Christie made it two with a superb shot from 25 yards out.

At the start of the second half Alloa fought back and Jim Calder made 4 good saves in the first 5 minutes.

In 55 minutes Iain Stewart headed home a Richard Hastings cross and a minute later Stewart was again in the right place and he lobbed the keeper to make it 4-0.

Caley Thistle were now full of confidence and Charlie Christie completed his hat trick in 78 minutes with a drive from 25 yards.
