Milestones

The home side deservedly won this first derby at Caledonian Stadium. They were dealt a bad blow in the 18th minute when Brian Thomson hurt his back and was stretchered off.

In the 29th minute. Countys Sandy Ross was sent off for elbowing Richard Hastings. The swirling wind always caused problems but the home side coped best. In 49 minutes a superb run by Barry Wilson led to the first goal - he passed to Iain Stewart who netted clinically from 6 yards.

County began to struggle and Marco De Barros should have sealed victory in the 85th minute but Hutchison saved well. A minute from time it was 2-0. Wilson won the ball on the left and passed to Stewart who calmly chipped Hutchison from 20 yards.
