First Team Debuts

Milestones

Livingston and Caley Thistle drew for the third time this season in an action packed match. Livingston nearly scored in the 5th minute when Grant McMartin rounded Jim Calder but Barry Robson cleared off the line. Against the run of play Caley Thistle took the lead in the 19th minute. Barry Robson won the ball in midfield, beat three men and drove the ball past Ian McCaldon from 20 yards. Livingston hit back within a minute when Graham Harvey beat the offside trap, rounded Calder and hit the ball into the empty net. Jim Calder – so often the hero for Caley Thistle – was the villain in the 36th minute when he was sent off for swinging a punch at Harvey after a clash in the box. Brian Thomson went into goal but his first action was to pick the ball out of the net as Harvey slotted home the penalty. Livingston failed to take advantage of their superior numbers although Gordon Forrest should have scored just on half time – he was clean through but hit weakly past. Caley Thistle dominated the second half but stand-in ‘keeper Thomson was a hero in 61 minutes when he made a one-handed save from a Tom Graham header. The visitors deservedly equalised in 81 minutes when Barry Wilson turned in a cross from Wayne Addicoat. Minutes later they had a penalty claim turned down when Conway appeared to handle and at the other end Harvey went down after a tackle by Richard Hastings in the box but play was waved on. As the game drew to a close the visitors almost snatched it after a Wilson challenge on McCaldon but Conway headed clear. The 10 men deservedly took a point from this game – finally played after 4 postponements.
