First Team Debuts

Milestones
Martin Bavidge played his 50th major competitive game for the Club.

Falkirk took their chances well and were much sharper than Caley Thistle. Gareth Hutchison hit the home post in only 20 seconds and in 5 minutes a Mark Roberts 25 yard shot came off the bar - Hutchison took it first time to score from close range. Caley Thistle pushed hard and a Charlie Christie header was tipped over by Myles Hogarth. Falkirk scored a second in 28 minutes when Mark Kerr knocked into the net at the back post after a cross from the right. Eight minutes into the second half Caley Thistle pulled one back when Martin Bavidge netted from 6 yards after a goalmouth scramble. It took Falkirk only 5 minutes to restore their two goal lead when Kevin McAllister hit a superb angled volley past Les Fridge. Falkirk pressed for a fourth and a Hutchison header came off the bar in 65 minutes. The home side earned a lifeline in 79 minutes when a clever David Bagan through ball sent Bavidge bearing down on goal. Despite two defenders closing and the keeper advancing he hit it home from 15 yards. The home side faded again and Falkirk came close to another goal ten minutes from time when a Kevin Christie free header after a corner went past the post. A win that Falkirk deserved and a score that flattered the home side.
