First Team Debuts

Milestones

A convincing win for Caley Thistle despite going behind to a 23rd minute goal from Paul Shepherd. He took a Mickey Reynolds hook pass and fired the ball past Les Fridge. Close to half time Caley Thistle equalised after a Stuart Golabek cross fell to Barry Wilson and he scored from close range. Six minutes after the restart a Paul Sheerin corner deceived keeper Martin Knudsen at the front post and crept into the net. Mark Crilly shot wide for Ayr and Fridge saved well first from Roddy Grant then Reynolds.
With a minute left Davide Xausa was rewarded for his impressive display when he took a Sheerin pass and curled the ball in off the post to make the final score 3-1.
