Caley Thistle's final pre-season friendly saw the debut of new signing Graeme Bennett but no goals.

The home side had chances in the first half but Lawrie made good saves from Robertson (twice) and Smart.

Brechin's Ian Redford headed off the line in 43 minutes after a cross from Wilson Robertson and at the other end Sinclair Marr shot inches past.

Brechin came close in the second half - a Miller shot was well saved by McRitchie and a Kenlo effort flew inches past the post.

In 70 minutes Caley Thistle substitute Craig Stewart (a trialist from Deveronside) scored but it was chalked off.

Redford came close in 80 minutes for the visitors and in 85 minutes Wilson Robertson almost snatched it for Caley Thistle but he headed past the post.
