The Inverness side returned to their Championship form in this friendly match and deservedly beat a strong Aberdeen side.

They fielded new signings Les Fridge and Norwegian Veltje Andersen and both played well. Aberdeen scored a fluke goal in 3 minutes when a Duncan Shearer cross was deflected by Billy Dodds and slipped agonisingly over the line.

Iain Stewart equalised in 27 minutes from close range after a Brian Thomson corner. In 36 minutes Duncan Shearer should have scored when he rounded Les Fridge and hit the post.

In 39 minutes Stewart made it 2-1 when he turned and shot in the box after a Brian Thomson corner and a header on from Paul Cherry.

In 63 minutes it was 2-2. Jim Calder dived at the feet of David Young but the ball broke to Dean Windass who slid it home over the keepers body.

The winner came in 74 minutes when Ross Tokely set up Iain Stewart who rounded Nicky Walker and scored from a difficult angle. A fitting end to a superb season.
