REPORT – Huntly paid their first visit to Caledonian Stadium and played some excellent football. The first chance fell to Barry Wilson in the fifth minute but John Gardiner ran 25 yards to head clear. In 9 minutes an Alan Hercher 20 yard shot was blocked but it fell to Stewart who slotted it home from 8 yards.

Huntlys best first half chance came in 19 minutes when Craig Yeats hit a low angled drive just past. In 34 minutes a defensive slip gave Brian Thomson a clear shot - Gardiner saved well but Hercher scored from the rebound. A minute later Barry Wilson ran clear of the defence but hit it straight at the keeper. Brian Thomson should have scored in 41 minutes but he blasted it past from 10 yards. Huntly started the second half well and were rewarded by a Martin Stewart goal in 54 minutes - an excellent close range header. In 76 minutes a Wilson solo run into the box led to a good Gardiner save but it fell to Thomson who hammered home from close range. A deserved win for the Inverness side but a good performance by Huntly.
