A rather dull match which was only settled by a 56th minute stunning strike from County�s Martin Wood. In eight minutes a Brian Gilfillan shot from 30 yards cleared the bar then on the half hour mark Les Fridge stepped in to clutch a dangerous cross from Barry Robson. Immediately Kenny Gilbert set up a Craig Campbell run on goal but Ally Ridgers came out quickly to clear. What proved to be the only goal of the match came in 56 minutes when Martin Canning set up Wood who sent a blistering angled drive past Ridgers. Campbell netted in 63 minutes but he was flagged offside. In the latter stages Paul Ritchie had a chance but lost possession then Ridgers saved from Grant Davidson. County�s slender lead remained and they took the cup.
