Milestones
This match was switched to Friday night because of the Scotland against England Euro 2000 Qualifier. It proved to be a disaster for the visitors - a crushing defeat by a very good Morton side. It was all very close in the first half but in the second half the Caley Thistle defence went to pieces. Morton took advantage of the errors and finished clinically. Keith Wright scored in 14 minutes but Ross Tokely equalised in 41 minutes. With half time looming Harry Curran made it 2-1 and in the second half Caley Thistle were over-run. Graeme Morrison, Ross Matheson and Stephen Aitken all netted to make the final score 5-1 and that's the most goals ever lost by Caley Thistle in a match.
