Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce the signing of three of our most promising Academy graduates on 2 year, full-time Apprenticeship contracts and we warmly welcome them into the club as they take their first steps in to full time football.

Matthew is a versatile defender who is equally at home at Left Centre Back or Left Back and joined the Academy aged 9 years old. He has impressed all the way through the age groups, with his commitment and attitude aligned with his defensive abilities and this was recognised with his selection for the Scottish Schoolboys and he played on all 4 occasions against Wales, Northern Ireland, England and the Republic of Ireland. Matthew was a mainstay of the ICT team which reached the semi-final of the Scottish Youth Cup v Hearts at Tynecastle.

Mathew made his professional debut in a 1–0 home loss to Hamilton Accies coming on as a substitute in injury time for Max Ram on 18 October 2022.

He has been loaned out to Brora Rangers at the start of season 23/24 until January. Matthew's loan spell with Brora Rangers has now been extended until the end of the season.

Mathew has been recalled from Brora but is now on loan to Nairn County for the remainder of season 23/24.

Mathew has signed on again for our season of turmoil in League 1 for 2024/2025. Squad No 12.

Mathew has added another season until end of 25/26 after making 20 appearances last season having recovered from injury. On October 30th, it was announced by the club that Mathew has been loaned out to Brora Rangers again until January 2026. Matthew, now 20, has made 34 first-team appearances for the club to date.
