Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Kerr Smith on a one-year deal, subject to Scottish FA and international clearance.

The centre-back joins us after a successful trial period, during which he featured in several of our pre-season friendly matches.

Kerr, 21, started his career at Dundee United, progressing through the club’s academy system before signing his first professional contract with the club at the age of 16.

Kerr made 12 appearances for United before securing a move to English Premier League side Aston Villa in 2022 at the age of 17.

He featured for Aston Villa’s Academy and Under-23 sides and had a short-term loan spell with Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone in 2024, followed by a loan at Barrow during the first half of last season.

Kerr has also been capped nine times by Scotland at Under-19 level.
