The Inverness side fought hard for this victory against a spirited Albion side.

In 2 minutes Albion nearly scored after a Jim Calder slip but it was cleared off the line. Minutes later Wilson Robertson shot inches past the post at the other end.

In 25 minutes Albion nearly scored after a Colin Sinclair back header but Calder recovered. The opening goal came at the other end in 28 minutes -Norman MacMillan collected a bad clearance from MacDonald and scored from 6 yards.

In 74 minutes McAllister hauled down Albion's trialist forward but Jim Calder brilliantly saved the resultant penalty.

With 8 minutes to go the home side equalised when a Martin McBride shot was deflected past Calder. Three minutes later the Inverness side's lead was restored when Martin Lisle headed home after a Mitchell free kick.
