This was never going to be a easy game after Caley Thistles cup run.
In the 5th minute Balfour parried a powerful Hercher shot and Stewart hit the crossbar from 6 yards. In 28 minutes a Ross shot was tipped past and 5 minutes later Teasdale shot past.
Caley Thistle continued to dominate but with nothing to show for it. Close to the interval Stewart tried a back heel effort but Balfour saved easily.
The second half was a repeat of the first and in 49 minutes Balfour once more denied the home side when he palmed a Scott 20 yard drive over the bar. In 66 minutes a good chance fell to Hercher but his 8 yard effort skied over the bar.
