Milestones

What should have been a comfortable win ended nervously thanks to a late Peterhead goal. The visitors created many chances throughout the game but only two were taken. The opening goal came in 14 minutes after Steve Hislop and Ross Tokely had come close. Richie Hart swung in a corner and Hislop rose unmarked to head home. In 25 minutes the home side had a chance but Martin Bavidge failed to connect with Stuart McKay’s fine free kick. Paul Mathers denied Hart in 57 minutes then Mark Brown made a good block from Iain Stewart. Mark Perry cleared a Roy McBain shot off the line and Iain Good intercepted a David Bingham header before the Caley Thistle lead was extended in 82 minutes. It was a Hart/Hislop combination again – a Hart cross from the goal line was headed past Mathers by Hislop. This should have killed the game but Peterhead substitute Duncan Stuart set up a nervy finish when he scored with a low drive in 86 minutes. The visitors held on to win.
