Milestones
Caley Thistles poor home record against Falkirk continued but they were disappointed not to take a point. Mark Kerr came close to an opener in four minutes but Jim Calder blocked his drive and Kevin McAllister failed with the rebound. In 9 minutes Roy McBain shot wide then in 15 minutes Calder held a dipping 20 yard volley from Paul Wright. Close to the half hour mark Myles Hogarth moved quickly to take a McBain through ball with Charlie Christie closing in. The opening goal came in 31 minutes when Steven Watson headed a John Henry cross past Calder from 8 yards. On the stroke of half time Caley Thistle equalised with a Bobby Mann penalty after Jamie McQuilken was adjudged to have handled. The home side went on the offensive in the second half and Hogarth saved twice in the opening seven minutes. In 61 minutes at the other end Wright hesitated too long when a cross fell for him and the chance was lost. In 73 minutes Wright headed past but made up for it a minute later when he scored with a 23 yard curling free kick. Calder looked to have it covered but somehow he was deceived. ICT fought back and eight minutes from time a Paul Ritchie 20 yard effort was saved by Hogarth. In injury time Mike Teasdale headed over and Falkirk held on for victory.
