Milestones
This game kicked off at 3:30 pm to avoid televised coverage of Rangers v Celtic. Clydebank keeper Colin Scott was injured in the warm-up and was replaced by Steve Morrison. He had a hard match and eventually let in four goals. The first half was poor but the game came alive in the second half with 5 goals. Paul Sheerin gave ICT the lead in 53 minutes with an unstoppable 30 yard blast and three minutes later Barry Wilson made it 2-0 from close range after Steve Morrison failed to hold a Paul Sheerin shot. In 59 minutes Wilson missed a chance to make it three when he dribbled past the keeper before hiting it over the bar. Clydebank pulled one back in 66 minutes when Ian Cameron scored direct from a 22 yard free kick. The points were secured in 74 minutes when Sheerin headed home his second after a Martin Bavidge chip. With three minutes left Wilson scored his second to make it 4-1. He chased a ball on the edge of the box ahead of a defender and the keeper before scoring from a tight angle. This goal proved to be the last Scottish league or cup goal of the millennium.
