Milestones
The cup hangover finally hit Caley Thistle. Brechin had the first shot in 13 minutes when a Craig Feroz cross fell to Bobby Brown but his effort was held by Jim Calder. In the 15th minute Shearer tested Garden with a hook shot and 7 minutes later Paul Cherry put Caley Thistle ahead. Barry Wilson played a short corner to Brian Thomson and his cross was only partly cleared Cherry drove home from the edge of the area. 2 minutes later Brechin levelled. Feroz powered down the right and sent in a low cross just beyond the diving Calder as Richard Hastings raced back he knocked it into the net. Feroz came close in 56 minutes when Calder tipped over a fierce header. Brechin took the lead in 62 minutes with a Roddy Black solo goal. He ran through the defence from midfield , rounded Calder and scored easily. In 71 minutes a Sandy Robertson free kick was deflected over and 3 minutes later McCulloch tried to lob Garden but just failed. With 10 minutes remaining Wayne Addicoat touched the ball on for Thomson to drive home but offside was given. As Caley Thistle threw everything forward they were exposed and this led to a third Brechin goal. McKellar raced down the right and set up Feroz whose shot was blocked by Calder. The ball fell again to Feroz and he scored.
