Milestones

Freezing weather put this match in doubt but it was saved by a late thaw too late to allow time for a programme to be printed! Clydes Pat Keogh made space for himself in nine minutes with a turn and shot but it went weakly past. Three minutes later Rafaele De Gregorio cut back from the line on the right and Nicky Walker punched it for a corner. The save of the match came in 34 minutes when Clydes Steve Convery crossed from the right and Murray McDowall hit a low ball goalwards Walker dived left to push it away. Kevin Budinauckas was the hero at the other end in 40 minutes when a Dennis Wyness shot was deflected but the keeper still managed touch it away. Two minutes into the second half a Charlie Christie 25 yard chip was deflected onto the bar. In 48 minutes Craig Cranmer handled in the Clyde box and it was a penalty albeit a soft one. The keeper guessed right and dived to save Bobby Manns kick. In 58 minutes an excellent Jamie Mitchell run led to a curling shot which came off Walkers post. The winning goal came in 62 minutes when Leigh Hinds hit a low ball in from the right it beat Walker and two defenders but when Mann tried to clear it bounced into his own net. In 70 minutes Keogh brought Paul Ritchie down just outside the area and Manns free kick came back off the wall. The visitors put on a late show and in 79 minutes the pressure forced an error from Hagen his back pass went over the head of the advancing keeper and it took a frantic Andy Millen boot to clear. In 86 minutes a Stuart Golabek 30 yard blast was deflected for a corner and on the 90 minute mark a Mann overhead kick in the box was cleared. A minute over time Russell Duncan was felled by Keogh on the right edge of the area Robsons free kick went over the bar and the match was lost. In the tight league this resulted in a slip to eighth place.
