Milestones
Two late Dennis Wyness goals rescued a point for ICT. The game only went ahead after a massive snow clearance operation. Caley Thistle started brightly and Paul Sheerin gave them the lead in 12 minutes. From 25 yards out on the right he sent in a curling ball which deceived Garry Hamilton and went in off the back post. County equalised quickly when the home defence let Owen Coyle run behind them and hit a low ball past Les Fridge. Wyness nearly scored in 27 minutes when he charged down a Hamilton kick-out but the ball went past the post. After Caley Thistle pressure County broke away and scored in 34 minutes with a Stevie Ferguson back-post header after a Karim Boukraa cross. It was 3-1 in 39 minutes when Brian Irvine headed home a Darren Henderson corner. In the second half Caley Thistle pressed forward but County were content to hold their lead. Mark McCormack had a chance for 4-1 just after the restart but his low shot was well blocked by Les Fridge. It took a late flurry of home attacks to break through the County defence. With four minutes left a David Bagan drive was turned for a corner then Bobby Mann headed narrowly past. In the last minute Roy McBain hit the ball across goal and Wyness flicked it in at the back post for 3-2. The game still seemed beyond Caley Thistle but two minutes of injury time made all the difference. Barry Robson headed across goal and the ball beat Hamilton but it came off the post and Wyness touched it in with the last kick of the game.
