First Team Debuts

Milestones

Despite first half dominance Caley Thistle could only manage to take a point home from Alloa. Soon after kick-off a Davide Xausa header went over the bar then Mark Cairns saved a low shot from Charlie Christie. Alloa were lucky to survive in 15 minutes when a Bobby Mann header was cleared off the line by Chris Wood then Cairns saved well from Dennis Wyness. Davide Xausa finally gave the visitors the lead in 25 minutes when he drove Paul Sheerin's cross low into the net from 8 yards. Alloa made two substitutions at half time and this gave them more confidence. In 50 minutes an Ian Murray surge set up Willie Irvine but Les Fridge managed to tip away his effort. It was a third substitute Gareth Evans who gained Alloa a point. With five minutes remaining he challenged Fridge for a Derek Clark cross and managed to touch it into the net. Caley Thistle's best second half chance came when Cairns tipped away a David Bagan shot which was heading for the top corner. In the closing minutes Irvine blasted a free kick wide of Fridge's goal. In the end both sides had to settle for a point.
