A bright and breezy afternoon saw a fairly strong Inverness team held 1-1 by Clach in this pre-season fixture at Grant Street.
David Wotherspoon opened the scoring after 5 minutes from the spot after Luis Longstaff was brought down. Inverness were playing with the stiff breeze in the first half which was blowing the full length of the pitch from the wine shed end.
Ridgers tipped away an effort from Calum Macleod after 20 minutes with Clach struggling to make headway in the opening half. However James Anderson was on hand to drill home after an effort by Greg Morrison rebounded from the keeper before ending up in the net eight minutes before the break with heavy suspicion of offside in the original build up.
Trialist B, Destiny Ojo was powerful and quick but unfortunately struggled to get anything on target lobbing just over in the first half.
After the break and with the wind getting stronger and behind them, Clach began to take the game towards the League1 side and were unfortunate on a couple of occasions. In saying that, it looked like we might have hit the post in a goalmouth melee as we tried to force the ball in from close range with possibly Ojo involved. Ross Munro pulled off a good save in the top corner from a Harry Nicolson header late in the game to keep it level, and best chance to bag a winner fell to Ben Gardiner but he shot powerfully over from ten yards with just the keeper to beat after good build up play.
That turned out to be the last good opportunity in a game spoiled by the wind.
Trialist B was No2 at right back and is Austin Nkwonta, another pacey guy but also struggled to make an impact.
On the bench was Billy Mckay who never came on and Szymon Rebilas. Also on the bench were youngsters Kenzie Harkness (who replaced trialist 'A' 83mins), Cameron McAllister and Finn Munro.
Missing today were Paul Allan, Adam MacKinnon and Ross Millen
