Milestones

Not a great game but a better performance from Caley Thistle. They snatched a point two minutes from time just when Saints seemed assured of victory. Steve Paterson made several changes including the introduction of new signing Nicky Walker in goal. In 11 minutes Martin Bavidge robbed St Mirrens Gary Bowman and ran at goal but he shot wide. Saints came close in 19 minutes when Steve McGarry just failed to connect with a Hugh Murray cross - Russell Duncan stepped in and nudged it to Walker. Dennis Wyness played a one-two with Charlie Christie to set up a run on goal but Ludo Roy came out to block. Late in the half Jose Quitongo made some runs on the Caley Thistle defence but they came to nothing. A Paul Ritchie shot was touched away by Roy then Barry Robson shot wide. Five minutes after the restart Saints took the lead when McGarry took a Bowman cross and sent a looping header past Walker. There were few scoring opportunities after that but Wyness had an effort saved by the legs of Scott Walker in 70 minutes. With time running out a cross from the right by Ross Tokely was met by the head of Bobby Mann and he scored the equaliser. Mann has now scored all three of Caley Thistles league goals this season.
