First Team Debuts

Milestones

An exciting game with all the atmosphere of a local derby. A draw was about right but either side could have snatched a win. McPhee beat the offside trap in 26 minutes, ran on to a Gerry Britton chip and lobbed it neatly past Fridge. Caley Thistle survived a spell of intense pressure before equalising in 35 minutes. Paul Sheerin chipped it into the path of Bavidge and he lobbed it over McCaldon. Four minutes later Sean Sweeney brought down Bavidge in the box and Sheerin gave Caley Thistle the lead from the penalty spot. Caley Thistle were disappointed to surrender the lead in 67 minutes when Derek Fleming sent in a low cross from the left and McPhee flicked it into the net. In the end both sides deserved to take a point.
