Milestones

Inverness CT went back to the top of the Division after this well deserved victory.

Iain Stewart put them ahead in 13 minutes with a close range header after a neat cross from Scott Mclean. Three minutes later Stewart sent it just past the post and in 24 minutes Larter brilliantly parried a Paul Cherry drive.

In 38 minutes it was 2-0. A good run and shot from Mike Teasdale rebounded to Scott McLean who stroked it home from 10 yards. At the other end Jim Calder made a great double save after a Colin McGlashan free kick.

Early in the second half the home side nearly stretched their lead. An Iain Stewart scissors kick put the ball just over the bar and Larter saved well when Barry Wilson was clean through. Montrose then came back strongly but the home defence held firm to keep a clean sheet.
