First Team Debuts
Milestones
After another good performance Caley Thistle were devastated to lose two late goals. The first half was full of pace and passion as the home side drove forward into the strong wind in search of their first goal of the season. Falkirk nearly struck in the second minute when Owen Coyle pounced on a deflected clearance and was one-on-one with Mark Brown the keeper dived to smother Coyles shot. The opening goal came in 24 minutes. A Barry Robson free kick from wide left curled into the goalmouth and Ross Tokely bravely headed into the net despite being injured in the process. Coyle tried a shot on the turn in 31 minutes but it bobbled past. Falkirk improved in the second half but not before Robson created a chance in 49 minutes with a strong run. He shot wide with Keogh better placed on his right. Keogh limped off after an excellent performance and he was missed greatly. Falkirk pressed hard for the last half hour but the defence stood firm until the 81st minute. Mark Kerrs corner led to a series of blocked shots before Lee Miller found the net after Brown had pushed away Andy Lawries shot. After three extra minutes Falkirk were awarded a free kick just inside the ICT half. Jamie McQuilkens high ball into the box broke to Steve Tosh and he sent a low shot past Brown. A major disappointment to the home fans but the signs of a recovery are there.
