First Team Debuts
Milestones
A lucklustre performance from both sides. Defences played well and chances were rare. In 10 minutes Andersen sent a long ball through for Stewart but Ian Macfarlane raced out of his goal to clear. A minute later a Stewart pass from the left was met by Shearer but his off-balance strike was saved by the keeper. Two minutes later at the other end Simon Kaljob intercepted a McCulloch header and forced two great saves from Fridge. In 21 minutes Robson sent in a cross from the left which Shearer just failed to reach and 4 minutes later Clydebank's Derick McWilliams shot over the bar from 18 yards when he should have done better. In 38 minutes a tremendous last-gasp tackle from MacArthur took the ball off the feet of Kaljob inside the box. Just before half-time Robson ran down the left and sent in a great ball across goal but he was too fast for the other forwards and nobody was there to take advantage. Four minutes into the second half Thomson ran onto a through ball but the keeper took the ball off his feet. In 55 minutes Shearer for once had some room and forced a good save from MacFarlane with a 10 yard drive. The home side created most in the second half but nothing came off. Robson had a good 15 yard shot saved in 75 minutes and a Stewart chip shot was saved in 80 minutes. Clydebank's best second half chance came in 79 minutes when substitute Gary Teale ran clear in the box but another last-gasp MacArthur tackle saved the day. The game petered out to a goal-less draw. After 9 games Inverness still seek their first league win.
