Milestones
A deserved victory for the home side sealed mid-way through the second half. In the second minute Martin Glancy set up Scott McLean who ran in on the keeper but he came out well to smother it. In 14 minutes Charlie Christie evaded tackles in the Forfar box before sending in a chip from the bye-line but Craig Tully headed it away. The opening goal came in 17 minutes. Glancy slipped it to Wilson and he hit it low into the net from a difficult angle. Forfar had a good spell shortly after that - Jim Calder blocked an Andy Cargill shot in 24 minutes then punched away a free kick from the same player. With 5 minutes of the half left Steve Raynes sent in a corner and while Jim Calder was being bundled into the net the referee blew his whistle. A bouncing ball had hit Andrew Allan's hand and it was a penalty. Justice was done when Calder stopped Cargill's spot kick. Glancy nearly scored a minute into the second half when he took a Wilson pass and shot just past. McCulloch then shot over, Paul Sheerin headed past and McCulloch did the same. In a rare Forfar attack Allan took the ball off the toe of Martin McClauchlan in 54 minutes. In 67 minutes Christie made it 2-0 with a low shot from just inside the area after taking a through pass from Glancy. Christie had a shot blocked in 81 minutes then a minute later Robertson palmed away a Duncan Shearer header. With a minute left it looked like 3-0 when Shearer headed a Richard Hastings cross goalwards but Robertson tipped it over. Livingston drew with Partick so Caley Thistle lie only 7 points behind.
