Milestones
Caley Thistle's unbeaten run ended at Broadwood. Their troubles started in the warm-up when Shearer pulled a calf muscle and had to drop out. Worse came in the 27th minute when Hastings was stretchered off with a knee injury. Caley Thistle started well and McLean forced a point blank save from Wylie. In 10 minutes Clyde's McCusker made a strong solo run but his final shot was weak. Five minutes later at the other end Sheerin shot over the bar after being set up by McLean. The injury to Hastings was followed closely by a clash between Spittal and Wilson which saw the Clyde player carried off. Despite playing with 10 men Clyde took the lead in the 40th minute through Grant after a strong McCusker run and a Convery cross. Injury time in the first half lasted 5 minutes and Clyde scored twice. A Convery pass set up McCusker and he stroked it past Calder then Convery himself shot home from the edge of the area. Six minutes into the second half Cherry gave the visitors hope when he bundled the ball over the line following a corner. Four minutes later it was 4-1 when Barrett found himself in space and neatly rounded Calder before slotting the ball into the empty net. There was no way back now for Caley Thistle and Clyde were worthy winners. Caley Thistle dropped to second place in Division 2 but only on goal difference.
