First Team Debuts

Milestones

Caley Thistle were knocked out of the League Challenge Cup at the first hurdle. The home side had plenty of pressure but they were denied by Alloa 'keeper Paul Graham.

Norman MacMillan opened the scoring in 36 minutes - a header after Davie Ross's shot was swept off the line.

Two minutes later a Dave Brennan goal-line clearance was picked up by Danny Diver who set up Barry Moffat for a low drive to make it 1-1.

Early in the second half Charlie Christie and Davie Ross had shots well saved by Graham. In 60 minutes Alloa broke away - Bennett lobbed the ball over the defence and Danny Diver thumped the ball past Mark McRitchie.

Caley Thistle fought back and Graham again saved well from MacMillan and Christie. At the other end McRitchie stopped a powerful drive from Nixon. The score remained 2-1 after an exciting game but another frustrating one for the home side.
