Milestones

This was a dismal performance by the home side against promotion contenders Montrose.

For the third time in 3 weeks Caley Thistle lost an early vital goal. Straight from the kick off Colin McGlashan set up Neil McAvoy and he made no mistake.

Caley Thistle tried to come back but lost a second in 14 minutes - Mike Noble brought down McGlashan in the box and he picked himself up before slotting the ball home from the penalty.

In the second half the home side had only one real chance when a Mitchell through ball found MacMillan but he hesitated too long and the opportunity was lost.

Mark McRitchie had to race off his line to prevent a Montrose third through Smith but the score was only delayed. In the 77th minute substitute Kennedy brilliantly lobbed the ball to Smith who cleverly chipped it over the advancing McRitchie.
