Milestones
Caley Thistle gifted the points to Brechin and Steve Paterson’s first win must wait for another day.
The home side dominated this game for an hour but mainly lost as a result of goalkeeping blunders. In 41 minutes they took the lead when Iain Stewart stroked home a low pass from Davie Ross who had controlled the ball well on the right.
In 54 minutes Ross sent a fierce drive over the bar and in 61 minutes Norman MacMillan headed wide when scoring seemed easier.
The visitors levelled in 66 minutes - Mark McRitchie missed a long clearance from Brechin 'keeper Ray Allan and Ray Smith tapped the ball home. Two minutes later Caley Thistle were again punished when a weak header from Sandy Ross slipped through McRitchie's hands. It was nearly three in 82 minutes but Dave Brennan cleared off the line.
