Milestones

Clyde won the prize of a second round home tie with Celtic but not convincingly.

It was rather a scrappy game with few clear cut chances. Iain Stewart came close for the visitors in 33 minutes but his chip from 20 yards was saved by keeper McLean then kicked away by McConnell.

Inverness best effort came with three minutes of normal time left. A Teasdale volley came off the bar, bounced on the line then was cleared. In extra time Clydes superior fitness began to pay off and they won the game with a goal by Eddie Annand in 96 minutes. The referee played advantage when Paul Brownlie was fouled and Annand scored from 15 yards. ICT substitute Alan Hercher was sent off two minutes from the end after a foul on Stephen McInulty.
