Milestones
Brian Thomson played his 50th major competitive game for the Club. |
The Division 3 Championship Trophy was presented to the home side after the game and this helped to wipe out the memory of a dreadful result.
Forfar easily won with a superb display of flowing football and sharp finishing. In 10 miutes Barry Wilson lost possession on the halfway line and Alan Morgan ran through to score with a delightful chip over Jim Calder.
In 27 it was 2-0 when Morgan again ran through the defence and hit it past Calder from 15 yards. 2 minutes later Ben Honeyman made it 3 with a close-range header after a corner.
The home side came close twice just before half-time. In 43 an Iain Stewart shot came off Robertsons legs and a minute later a Brian Thomson 30 yard rocket was palmed over.
2 minutes into the second half Morgan completed his hat-trick when he slipped it past Calder from 15 yards. It was nearly 5-0 in 62 minutes when Morgan side-footed Calder only to be superbly tackled by Richard Hastings.
Forfar & Ross County are still battling to join the Inverness side in Division 2.
