For the second week in succession Caley Thistle lost an early goal which proved to be the only goal of the game. The visitors took the lead in 6 minutes when Rod Wylie rose unmarked at the back post to head home a Hannah cross.
At the other end a Noble 18 yard drive crashed off the upright. The home side pressed hard and had chances through Mitchell, Noble & Hercher. Wylie nearly scored his second but Mitchell cleared off the line.
Just before half time Caley Thistle were dealt another blow when Mike Andrew was sent off for a foul on McAnenay just outside the box.
Alloa started well in the second half and McRitchie saved from McAnenay & Bell. Caley Thistle began to dominate and had chances through Mitchell & Hercher but they could not score.
