In 75 minutes Caley Thistle came close when an Iain Stewart volley went over the bar. In 83 minutes the visitors had a golden chance to win the match but Paul Ferguson blasted the ball over the bar from close range. In 84 minutes it was Caley Thistle who took the lead - Iain Stewart chipped the ball over the 'keeper, it came off the post and Dougie Green scored from the rebound. 4 minutes later Charlie Christie prised open the defence, released it to Stewart who squared it to Alan Hercher - despite being off balance Hercher blasted the ball into the net to make it 3-1 for the home side.
