Milestones

In front of a record third division crowd of 4931, Caley Thistle dominated the early period and had chances through Thomson, Teasdale and Hercher.

In 12 minutes a MacArthur drive was deflected to Stewart who tapped home. In 20 minutes it should have been 2-0 but Hutchison saved a Ross volley.

County came back and in 27 minutes a Grant chip bounced over the bar. Early in the second half Calder saved a Milne effort and at the other end Thomson sent an overhead kick just over the bar.

County had chances through Milne, Somerville and MacLeod before Milne made it 1-1 after 74 minutes - he pounced on a half-clearance and forced the ball over the line. Near the end Caley Thistle nearly snatched it when Somerville headed a Hercher effort onto the bar.
