First Team Debuts

Milestones

A frantic, exciting game which ended in a convincing win for the Inverness side.

They made a dream start when Iain Stewart controlled a difficult ball well in the County penalty area and prodded it home from close range. County fought back but the visitors held out well and had chances to increase their lead.

In 62 minutes County equalised when the ball rebounded off the post and Derek Adams shot home. Two minutes later it was 2-1 for the visitors when Iain Stewart sprinted down the right, took a pass from Alan Hercher and sent a beautiful angled chip over Hutchison into the top left corner of the net.

County chased hard but the Inverness defence was solid. In the dying seconds an Alan Hercher shot was blocked but Brian Thomson scored from the rebound to make it 3-1.

A coin-throwing incident in the second half caused the game to be stopped for a couple of minutes - it came from the County end and hit one of their own players.
