Danny MacDonald scored his first goal for the Club.

Danny MacDonald put Caley Thistle ahead in 2 minutes with a volley after a cross from Dave Brennan.

McRitchie was in tremendous form for Caley Thistle and produced fine saves from Duffy, Weighorst & Britton.

Dundee gained a penalty in 66 minutes when Brennan upended Hamilton but McRitchie saved Britton's kick.

From the resultant corner Weighorst equalised with a header.

Caley Thistle missed a penalty in 77 minutes when John Scott's kick was saved.

Extra time was goal-less and it went to penalties. At 2 goals apiece McKenzie's shot was blocked by Mathers but Hamilton scored to give Dundee the lead. Andrew scored, Shaw missed and it was 3-3. Brennan shot over the bar before Jim Duffy scored to win the game for Dundee.
