Caley Thistle should have won the match by half time but they missed many chances. In the first 5 minutes Charlie Christie and John Scott missed golden opportunities from close range. The home side continued to dominate and in 40 minutes they made it 1-0 with a Daisy Ross header after a corner. Minutes later East Stirling keeper Gordon McDougall saved a scorcher from Iain MacArthur.
