First Team Debuts
Milestones
This first league derby was marred by 9 yellow and 2 red cards. The end result was a good win for the visitors.
Grant came close in the first minute for County and Wilson sent a dipping drive just over. McKenzie and Robertson had chances for the visitors before an attempted clearance by Sandy MacLeod landed in his own net.
County fought back but excellent saves by McRitchie denied them. In 43 minutes County's Campbell was sent off after a gesture to McKenzie.
Half Time: 0-1
Numbers were level in 50 minutes when Caley Thistle's Andrew also received a red card after bringing down Grant. Andy MacLeod equalised from the resultant penalty.
In 62 minutes a Robertson cross-cum-shot was turned into his own net by County's Somerville to give Caley Thistle the lead.
McRitchie saved magnificently in 73 minutes from a Grant free kick and two minutes later Robertson deservedly scored number 3 - a 25 yard drive after an electric run from his own half.
Full Time: 1-3
What a goal to end the scoring in this first ever Highland derby.
